The snow is still not quite there for us to start skiing yet but ice season has officially started in SW Montana and we've been out looking for some. While the Sphinx and other alpine routes have been "in" for over a month, a few routes in Hyalite came in around the week of November 12th. This fall has been very warm here and we're once again off to a slow start to our normal winter activities. Warm weather makes skiing impossible and fat ice hard to find but there's still so much to enjoy here. So while we wait for the next cold front to make it's way down to us early next week, we've been enjoying dry tooling, exploring and climbing what scrappy little ice we can find.
