October 13th, 2021; With a early season snow storm bringing over a foot of snow to the Bridgers, we were able to get out and make our first turns of the season. The cold didn't last long and within 24h after the storm, the snow was a mix somewhere between cheese cake and tiramisu with the heavier snow on top (melt from the sun) and less dense underneath. Early-season rocks, stumps and logs were lurking just underneath this soggy first layer and while it was definitely bony, a little sketchy, heavy as s**t and not the time to ski fast through the trees, we didn't care because we we're skiing again.
